goconut follows the requirements of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and ensures compliance with data protection as a company and software. Our product was developed in accordance with legal requirements, including “data protection through technology design and data protection-friendly default settings” (Article 25 EU GDPR). We support our users in exercising their rights, such as the right to deletion, information and data portability (chapter 3 EU GDPR). Users of gococonut can anonymize their personal data themselves, in particular their name, at any time.
Databases are secured with auto-generated passwords of at least 20 digits and AES-256 encrypted as standard.
For our interfaces, we use the official APIs of the corresponding services. In any case, we only request the permissions that are really necessary for our application. We are happy to provide our interface description, which contains all information.
goconut uses Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Frankfurt to host its software (https://aws.amazon.com/de/compliance/gdpr-center/). The data centers used have ISO/IEC 27001 certification and therefore meet our high standards for the physical security of customer data.
All customer data is stored on AWS services in Frankfurt, which are subject to strict decommissioning protocols, as described in the AWS security white paper: “AWS uses the techniques described in the DoD 5220.22-M (“National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual”) or NIST 800-88 (“Guidelines for Media Sanitization”) to destroy data as part of the deactivation process.”
On request, we manually delete any identifiable booking data associated with an account from our database. Anonymized data, such as the “total number of bookings made by a space,” is not removed as it cannot be traced back to individual users. Your company's data can also be deleted upon request. Our backups are kept for 7 days.
